About Us
Welcome to Dots Ontario - home of millions of tiny flash frozen beads of Ice Cream we call Dippin' Dots®. Like many great discoveries, this product was created using scientific intuitiveness and perhaps a little serendipity!
Employed as a microbiologist, Founder Curt Jones specialized in cryogenics. In the 1980's Curt combined his knowledge of cryogenics with his passion for ice cream. After nearly a year of experimenting with the idea of flash-freezing ice cream, Curt had created tiny flash-frozen 'dots' of ice cream and a new product was born: Dippin’ Dots®!
Dippin Dots is now available through the Canadian Master Franchise holder, Dots Canada Inc. Development of a Canadian based production facility in 2004 has now made it possible for further development through partnership with existing businesses, attractions or developments that have existing, suitable locations.

Since its inception in 1988, Dippin' Dots® has received numerous awards.
- The IDFA named Dippin' Dots Best In Show at its Achieving Excellence Awards in 2005.
- Dippin' Dots founder and President Curt Jones was awarded one of the prestigious regional "Entrepreneur Of The Year" awards by Ernst & Young in 1995.
- 2004 & 2004, Six Flags awarded Dippin' Dots, Inc. as the Top Vendor for the park chain's entire system! Dippin' Dots is proud of its long and successful affiliation with Six Flags Theme Parks!
- In February 2002, Dippin' Dots® ranked Number One (#1) among the top 50 new franchise companies by Entrepreneur Magazine.
